Szept is run by Paulina Katewicz, Sheffield, United Kingdom, who is the data controller for any information you send.

What I hold. Your name and email address, and whatever details you choose to share about the person the poem is for. Nothing more is asked for and nothing is collected automatically: this website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or analytics.

Why. To reply to your message, to write and deliver your commission, and to keep the records that tax law requires.

How long. Enquiries that do not become commissions are deleted within twelve months. Records of completed commissions are kept for six years, as required for accounting. Drafts and personal details are deleted sooner on request.

Who else sees it. Nobody. Your details are never sold, shared or used for marketing. In practical terms, email reaches me through Google's Gmail service and this website is hosted by Netlify, so those companies process the data in the ordinary technical sense.

Your rights. You may ask to see, correct or delete anything I hold about you, at any time, by writing to hello.szept@gmail.com. If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Terms of commission

• A commission begins once the brief and the price have been agreed in writing.
• One round of revisions is included. Further revisions can be arranged and are quoted separately.
• Timescales given are estimates made in good faith. Where a piece is needed for a fixed date, that date is agreed at the outset.
• Because every piece is personalised, the usual fourteen day right to cancel does not apply once writing has begun. Before that point, an order may be cancelled and any payment is refunded in full.
• Copyright in the text remains with the author, Paulina Katewicz. You receive the right to use your poem freely for personal purposes, including printing, framing, reading aloud and reproducing it on your own stationery. Commercial use is available by separate agreement.
• Your poem is written for you alone. It is never reused, resold or given to anyone else, and it is never published or shown on this website or on social media without your permission.
